Friday in the framework of the qualifiers of the 18th FIFA U-17 World Cup (World Brazil Brazil 2019) of the Confederation zone of North America, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF), after their win Wednesday against Honduras [2-0] https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-27620-haiti-world-cup-u-17-our-grenadiers-dominate-honduras-[2-0]-in-the-elimination-phase.html , our young U-17 Grenadiers, faced off at the IMG Soccer Complex Field #11, the "Selecta" of El Salvador, which they victoriously crushed [4-1] taking the lead of Group G with 6 goals scored, 1 goal conceded, for a difference of +5, qualifying for the 1/8 finals.

In the first half, the foals of Webbens Princimé dominated the game and it was Fredler Christophe (captain of the team) who opened the score of a head in favor of Haiti at 38 '[1-0]

At half-time the score was unchanged [1-0]

Returning from locker room Dany Jean (Aigle Noir) in the 70' scored from the head a second goal against El Salvador [2-1] followed 2 minutes later by a third goal from Maudwindo Germain 72' in favor of the Grenadiers [3 -0].

Emerson Saul scored El Salvador's first goal against a Haitian looser at 78 ', saving his team from humiliation.

But our Grenadiers did not intend to finish on this goal and Michel Pierre (entry during the game), scored a superb fourth and final goal of this game at 87 'of play [4-1].

Group G Ranking :

1 - Haiti 6 points + 5

2 - Salvador 3 points +1

3 - Honduras 3 point +1

4 - Guyana 0 point -7

Qualified for the 8th finals our Grenadiers still have some way to go and the hardest will be to reach the semi-finals, where only the 4 semi-finalists will qualify for the World Cup to be held in Brazil on Saturday 5th to Sunday 27th October 2019

Recall that this 18th edition U-17 that was to take place in Peru, was moved to Brazil, following an unfavorable inspection of Peruvian sports infrastructure.

Next and last game of this phase for our Grenadiers, Sunday May 5 against Guyana, a match that will not change anything to the qualification of Haiti.
